Description
John M. Burns and Others - Daily Comic Strip Original Art Group of 7 (Various, c. 1950-60s). Seven great strips by seven different artists! From the 1930s, there is The Nebbs, dated 3-9, by W. A. Carlson. From the 1940s, there is an unfinished/unpublished pitch piece for The Goldbergs by Jon Chester "Chet" Kozlak that is graphite with a bit of ink work. From the 1950s, there is an unpublished and unnamed pencil pitch piece by Win Mortimer on CrafTint board (the last panel is an original art paste-up). The remaining four are from 1966-68: Teen Wise by Jack Berrill (1966, partial Sunday strip); Judge Parker by Harold LeDoux (6-28-67, signed in top margin); The Seekers #N165 by John M. Burns (1967, from "The Irish Caper", which is one of only two storylines whose artwork has surfaced so far); and Robin Malone by Bob Lubbers (2-7-68, signed in first panel). Some are on illustration board or CrafTint board, most are on Bristol board. Most are ink over graphite (unless noted) and the image areas vary from 15" x 4.5" up to 21.5" x 5.25".
