Joe Jay Events in the Lives of Little Men Daily Comic Strip Original Art (W.N.U. Syndicate, c. 1930s). Jay's continuation of a 1920s single-panel strip (originated by Magnus Kettner) captures a nostalgic small-town vibe in ways comparable with J.R. Williams' Out Our Way and Gaar Williams' Whatta Life! Whatta Life! This fine example examines the boyhood ritual of comparing sun-tans. Inscribed to a friend. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 11" x 9", framed to 14" x 10.5. Faint toning. Excellent condition.
