Jim Ivey Orlando FL Sentinel and San Francisco Examiner Original Editorial Comics Panels Group of 22 (Tribune Publ., etc., 1960s-70s). A concentration of Ivey's emphatic political and civic-booster opinions, highlighted by cartoons championing environmental protections (for Florida's alligators) and educational opportunities for schoolgirls and gifted children. Both local and national in subject-matter. Perceptive and articulate, with terrific eye-appeal in Ivey's spontaneous and lively brush-and-pen lines -- often reminiscent of the style of Dennis the Menace's Hank Ketcham. Varied ink-based media, with occasional shading on Bristol board. Image areas, 8" x 6" to 8" x 10" (with slight variations). One piece is framed to 12" x 16". Various degrees of toning and handling wear. Toning and paper-aging vary overall. Average Very Good condition. From the Allan Holtz Collection.
