Description
Jim Davis Garfield Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-26-03 (PAWS, 2003). Garfield out-relaxes Jon on this lazy Sunday, rendered in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 18.75" x 12.25", with unerased lines and small whiteout corrections. The unerased blue pencil lines in the second-to-last panel reveal Garfield's original position (sitting up) before being inked as more puddle than cat in the final version. Interestingly, the final inks over the light lines almost give the impression of Garfield's spirit rising out of his body -- a fun and spooky touch that only the original art can offer to this humorous page.
