Description

Jim Davis Garfield Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-14-79 (United Feature Syndicate, Inc., 1979). Jon Arbuckle breaks the dramatic Fourth Wall to address the reader about the pitfalls of pet ownership. The occasional stray cat hair is nothing by comparison with an onslaught of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Garfield, as usual, gets in the last word. Brilliant narrative momentum. Ink and blue pencil on Bristol board. Image area, approximately 19" x 8.5". Faint toning, with a pasted lettering correction in Panel 2 and a spot-stain in Panel 6. Excellent condition. From the Jim Davis Collection.
