Description

Harvey Eisenberg Yogi Bear Daily Comics Panel Original Art dated 3-16-62 (Hanna-Barbera/McNaught Syndicate, 1962). Hanna-Barbera's Yogi Bear franchise landed its own television show in January of 1961, spinning off the character's backup appearances on the trend-setting Huckleberry Hound Show. As a promotional strategy, a Yogi Bear newspaper feature was rolled out in synch with the teleseries. Eisenberg (1911-1965) was the first artist assigned to the strip -- which is brilliantly consistent with the TV-cartoons' rambunctious style and defiant attitude. Ink and chemical shading over graphite on board, with the subtext of a classic "picnic-basket" gag. Image area, 9.25" x 10". Excellent condition.
