    Description

Hank Barrow But First the Old Frontier Editorial Cartoon Original Art dated 1-24-61 (Omaha World-Herald, 1961). A visually imposing and well-timed account of the early days of John F. Kennedy's presidency. Barrow argues that before JFK can put his "New Frontier" concepts into action, he must deal with inherited issues of foreign policy -- an overwhelming task. Henry Clark "Hank" Barrow approached the 1960s with a wariness born of nearly 30 years in the political-cartoon arena. Ink and crayon on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 13.5". Personalized inscription at lower right. Some corner wear and light marginal smudging. Excellent condition.
