Description

Hal Foster Tarzan Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-12-35 (United Feature Syndicate, 1935). This electrifying Sunday, titled "The Monster" is a superb example of Foster's later work on Tarzan, before he left to create his own feature, Prince Valiant, in 1937. This page has a starving Tarzan, Sybil, and Tarzan's ape friend Bohgdu stranded on a raft in the ocean when a rogue wave strikes, and if that weren't bad enough... sharks! Foster's mastery of human and animal form are on full display here. This strip has an ink on Strathmore Bristol board image area of 19.75" x 26.25". There is corner wear and chipping. Top left corner held on by tape from reverse side. Top right corner glued into place. All corners are rounded, with pinholes in the margins of the toned board. In Very Good condition.

More Information: EDIT: Removed "missing syndicate" notation.
