    Description

Hal Foster Prince Valiant Sunday Comic Strip Panel Original Art dated 5-14-44 (King Features Syndicate, 1944). Prince Valiant confesses to his father, King Aguar, his enchantment by the "sorceress" Aleta, in this key panel cut from a Sunday page. Of course, Val and Aleta would eventually marry. It was a common practice for Hal Foster to send large panels, cut from Sunday pages, to fans writing in, requesting artwork. The art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 7.75" x 11", matted to an overall size of 10.25" x 13.5", and affixed to a backing Foamcore board. Very light soiling; otherwise, the art remains in Excellent condition.
