    Description

Hal Foster Prince Valiant Sunday Comic Strip #493 Original Art dated 7-21-46 (King Features Syndicate, 1946). Hal Foster pays tribute to the Robin Hood legend with this "Hugh-the-Fox" episode from the "War in the Forest" story arc. The newly-wed Alteta eagerly springs to aid Val in his quarter-staff battle with Little Cyril, but is held back by Sir Gawain -- this is high adventure and romance at its most lyrical. This strip was cut between each panel tier, and the tiers were later mounted to a support board. This Sunday has an image area measuring 24" x 34". The page has been cleaned; otherwise, the piece is Very Good condition.
