Description

Hal Foster Prince Valiant Sunday Comic Strip #1123 Original Art, dated 8-17-58 (King Features Syndicate, 1958). Snapping out of his blood rage, Val is disgusted by the "Singing Sword's" seemingly unquenchable thirst for blood. Few scenes could be more dramatic than the final panoramic panel from "Val Parts From His Sword" where Val hurls his bewitched blade into the sea. The image area of this marvelous masterpiece is 23" x 33.5". The top panel tier was cut from the page, and later rejoined with tape on the back of the paper, the title logo is glue-stained, and some of the lettering in the captions has slipped loose; otherwise, the art is in Very Good condition. From the Don Vernon Collection.
