Hal Foster Prince Valiant #1004 Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-6-56 (King Features Syndicate, 1956). Hal Foster is an artist admired by a legion of fans and by other artists as well. His Prince Valiant is legendary for his super detailed artwork. To achieve this, Foster worked at an extremely large scale. So large, in fact, that he would often trim out a single panel from a published strip to sign and send to fans. This full Sunday strip was created in ink with red ink key lines over graphite on two sheets of Bristol board with a combined image area of 22.75" x 34". The board sections have been mounted to a cardboard backing. The logo is a paste-up stat that has partially ripped off. Text pieces are hand-lettered paste-ups, some of which are missing (which leaves glue residue behind). In Very Good condition.
