Gordon Bess Redeye Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-26-73 (King Features Syndicate, 1973). Tribal Chief Redeye calls for a volunteer. Brave warrior Tanglefoot steps right up, with an embarrassing declaration. A rib-tickler par excellence from Bess, one of the more dependable slapstick gagmen. The composition of the final panel conveys a vivid illusion of depth with simple linework and variations in line-weight. Inscribed and signed below. Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 16" x 4.5". Apart from the yellowed shading film, the art is in Excellent condition.Auction Info
