Gladys Parker Mopsy Daily Single-Panel Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-26-64 (Bell-McClure Syndicate, 1964). Parker's alter-ego character, Mopsy, offers some hard-earned dating advice. An interesting quality about Mopsy: Although Parker gave her female characters distinct appearances and personalities, her male characters all look like the same guy -- perhaps a prophecy of cloning? Brilliant latter-day Art Deco/Art Nouveau composition, distinguished by some of the most delicate pen-line work this side of Aubrey Beardsley. Ink over graphite on Bristol board.
