George McManus Bringing Up Father Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-1-49 (King Features Syndicate, 1949). This smashing Sunday strip, published on New Year's Day 1949, features Jiggs helpfully ensuring his wife's set of dishes all match -- by breaking the last unbroken piece! Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 17.25" x 12.75". Toned, with a toned logo paste-up, staple holes in the top right margin, stripped-in text corrections (with one missing in the fourth panel), small stains, and edge/handling wear.
