George Herriman Krazy Kat Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-25-17 (King Features Syndicate, 1917). This krazy duo puts the "Fun" in dis-fun-chul. A bit of a Groundhog Day syndrome, as Ignatz starts his day, only to start the next day the exact same way in this Sunday titled "Krazy Kat, Thy Doom Impends". George Herriman had a knack for not only filling his comic strip version of Coconino County (and its off-center inhabitants) with a surreal wackiness, but he also could slip in a bit of real characterization when you were not looking. It's obvious that Krazy Kat really and truly loves Ignatz. Also of note... the rarely seen Kolin Kelly (provider of Ignatz's endless brick supply) is actually seen twice in this strip! Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with a matted image area of 18.5" x 21.5". The piece is glass front framed to 25.5" x 28.5". Signed by Herriman in the lower edge of the image area. Lightly toned and in Excellent condition.
