George Herriman Krazy Kat Sunday Comic
Strip Original Art 10-16-1938 (King Features Syndicate, 1938).
Tell-a-Vishun comes to Coconino County! And Krazy Kat gets her big
break! Sadly, that break is a brick to the head. But, as we see in
the last panel, Ignatz gets copped for it. There is a notation in
Panel 10 that reads "Thanx to Elmer Raguse". Elmer Raguse
was an American sound engineer of the era, closely associated with
the Hal Roach Studios (Our Gang/The Little Rascals, Harold
Lloyd shorts, and Amos 'n' Andy). Crafted in ink over
graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 14.5" x 22". One of
the very few Krazy Kat fully hand colored by Herriman, the piece is
signed and personalized in panel 1. The toned board has some minor
soiling. The board is taped into a 23" x 31" mat with foam core
backing. It could most likely be easily removed. In Very Good

Malheureusement, cette opportunité se transforme par une brique sur la tête. Mais, comme nous le voyons dans la dernière planche, Ignatz se fait arrêter pour cela. Il y a une note dans la planche 10 qui dit "Merci à Elmer Raguse". Elmer Raguse était un ingénieur du son américain de l'époque, étroitement associé aux studios Hal Roach (Our Gang/The Little Rascals, les courts métrages de Harold Lloyd et Amos 'n' Andy). Réalisé à l'encre de Chine sur graphite sur carton bristol avec une surface d'image de 37 x 56 cm. Une des très rares Krazy Kat intégralement colorée à la main par Herriman, l'œuvre est signée et personnalisée dans la case 1. La planche légèrement jaunie, a quelques petites salissures. La planche est présentée dans un passe-partout de 58,5 x 78,5 cm avec un support en mousse. Il est fort probable qu'il puisse être facilement retiré. En Très Bonne condition.
