Description

Gene Ahern Our Boarding House with Major Hoople Daily Single-Panel Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-26-35 (NEA Service, Inc., 1935). The one-and-only Major Amos Hoople, that blowhard rascal, takes possession of a "rare and valuable jumping frog -- a champion jumper" in his latest crackpot money-making wager scheme. Mrs. Hoople is ill-impressed, as usual. Nobody could declare, "Egad!" or "By Jove!" as emphatically as the ol' Major. First-rate gagwriting, from a time when the words carried equal weight with the pictures. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 12" x 11". Moderately age-toned, darker about the margins. Very Good condition.
