Description

Gene Ahern Our Boarding House with Major Hoople Daily Single-Panel Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-22-34 (NEA Service, Inc., 1934). Blustery Major Amos Hoople claims to have caused Captain Shandygaff's incarceration. As always, Clyde and Mack, the cynical roomers at Hoople Manor, downplay the Major's grandiose claims. Ahern adds a punchline in the strip's caption: "He's all wound up." Ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board. Image area, 12" x 11". Moderately age-toned, with creasing and smudging/handling wear. In Very Good condition.
