Description

Garry Trudeau and Don Carlton Doonesbury Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-13-79 (Universal Press, 1979). Cultures clash and rebound in this pivotal episode of the influential satire strip. An ally of the Ayatollah declares that American women should be submissive. The American woman is delighted by his frankness. Sparely drawn, repetitive artwork, with slight variations in each panel, emphasizes the sardonic humor. Signed and inscribed by Trudeau. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with Zipatone shading. The image area is 14.5" x 5", with light toning. Very Good condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
