Description

Gaar Williams Static Daily Single-Panel Comic Strip Original Art Group of 2 (Chicago Tribune Syndicate, 1929). Two gems featuring Williams' semi-autobiographical character, Mort Green. In the 5-9-29 installment, Green imagines his company failing in his absence for a vacation. (Mrs. Green uses a since-archaic bit of slang: "Nibbing in," or interfering.) In the 12-5-29 panel, Green finds himself nagged by a charitable Christmas-season figure. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 13" square. Moderate age-toning and handling wear. Very Good condition. From the Ray Edw Collection.
