Gaar Williams Among the Folks in History Daily Comic Strip Original Art Group of 6 (1929). From that Jazz Age-into-Depression year, a wealth of applied sarcasm and backhanded nostalgia from a master of the sardonic one-liner. No other cartoonist ever wielded a brush with more jovial authority than Gaar Williams. The dates are 1-19-29, 2-3-29, 2-10-29, 4-14-29, 8-16-29, and 11-16-29. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Dimensions, 13" square. Toning, handling wear, and scuffing commensurate with age. Very Good condition overall. From the Ray Edw Collection.
