Frank Willard Moon Mullins and Kitty Higgins Sunday Comic Strips Original Art dated 2-10-52 (News Syndicate Co., Inc., 1952). The slobs barge in on the snobs in this large-scale rib-tickler. Willard's classic culture-clash comic finds slovenly Uncle Willie and Mamie Mullins about to attend the Grand Opera with found tickets and a borrowed tuxedo -- only to find the plan stymied. So Willie gives the tickets to two of his hobo pals. Each frame is a separate drawing, cut-and-pasted onto a backing board, with the internal edges filled out to fit the borders. There is staining around a few paste-ups, especially in the title-logo stat of the Kitty Higgins companion strip. Ink over graphite. Image area, 27.25" x 18.5". Very Good, with light to moderate overall toning. From the Ray Edw Collection.
