    Description

Frank Robbins Johnny Hazard Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-3-74 (King Features Syndicate, 1974). Robbins' signature feature, Johnny Hazard (1944-1977), coincided during the 1960s-70s with his important work for DC Comics and Marvel Comics (including the Batman revamp and development of The Invaders), and through it all, Robbins remained a busy gallery painter as well. This Hazard piece uses high-contrast inking and sharp-edged angular compositions to depict an armed standoff. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 14.5" x 4.25". Light toning, more pronounced at the edges. In otherwise Excellent condition.
