Frank King Gasoline Alley Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-26-58 (Chicago Tribune Syndicate, 1958). The original Gasoline Alley gang -- still together as friends and neighbors, just as they were during the 1920s. All have reached advanced middle age by now, thanks to King's habit of aging his characters in real time, but Doc, Avery, Bill, and leading man Walt Wallet are recognizably the same bantering chums. A delight from left to right, with the timely (for 1958) element of a uranium strike. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 19.75" x 6". Light toning. Excellent condition. From the Ray Edw Collection.
