Description

Frank Giacoia Sherlock Holmes Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-25-54 (N.Y. Herald Tribune, 1954). In the quiet of their study, Holmes and Watson look over an invitation to Lizzie's upcoming wedding to Percy, a man of little wealth or station, and muse that her father's fortune will no doubt soften the match. A wry domestic moment from the short-lived second newspaper adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, captured in this Sunday strip in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 20.25" x 13.25". Toning, minor marginal staining, smudging, production oil staining, adhesive residue, corrective abrasions, stat logo and credits paste-ups, red key lines, and handling wear. Signed by strip writer Edith Meiser in the opening panel. In Very Good condition.
