Frank Frazetta Johnny Comet Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 12-7-52 (McNaught Syndicate, 1952). From the transition period when the strip was flipping from Johnny Comet to focus on Ace McCoy, this Sunday is all about Johnny and his pals. Which gives super-star artist Frank Frazetta ample room to fuse some great humor with lovely drawings of Jean. Wonderfully detailed work rendered in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 24" x 16.25". The logo panel is a stat paste-up. The Sunday was personalized and signed with Frazetta's distinctive signature, in Panel 2, as well as being signed and dated in Panel 8. The toned board has edge and corner wear, with production tape on the corners. A bit of Zipatone is missing from Johnny's leg in Panel 1. In Very Good condition, with high eye-appeal. This one is a winner by any standard.
