Description

Frank Frazetta Johnny Comet Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-8-52 (McNaught Syndicate, 1952). It's the end of the story arc about Ida, the criminal on the lam. And that fellow in the shadows of Panel 4 is Mr. Bismuth, producer of Titanic Pictures. This story arc would draw Johnny into the world of motion pictures, and eventually introduce us to stuntman Ace McCoy... who would take over the strip entirely by the year's end! Poor Johnny, he just can't seem to catch a break. But he sure looks like artist Frank Frazetta! Rendered in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 17" x 4.5". Signed in the first panel. UV Glass front framed to 20.5" x 8.25". The lightly toned board is in Excellent condition.
