Description
Fran Matera Dolly Tryout Comic Strip Original Art (c. 1980s). Matera, best known for his work on Steve Roper, prepared this vividly designed daily as part of an audition pitch for a strip featuring pop-country entertainer Dolly Parton. (Purely fictional, of course.) This example represents a second week of the proposed feature. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 16" x 5". Faint toning and white-paint retouching.
