Eric Stanton Tin Hats Wartime Daily Comic Strip Panel Original Art (Bell Syndicate, c. 1944). Dated only as 11-25, this is for sure from the mid 1940s. Created in ink and Conte crayon on coquille board with an image area of 6.5" x 7.5". The typed punchline strip is missing, leaving glue residue on the board.
