Description

Edmond Good Knight Masters Daily Comic Strip Tryout Original Art (1940s). Good had launched the Rex Baxter feature for Bell Publishing, drawn the Scorchy Smith strip, and helped to introduce DC Comics' Tomahawk serial. The artist staked a possible breakthrough on a conceptual push for Knight Masters, a combination of mystery-comedy-ghostly influences. The pitch failed, but this compelling example endures as a small monument to a series that might have been. Ink and Zipatone shading film over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 20.25" x 5". Moderate toning and upper-margin adhesive staining. Otherwise in Excellent condition.
