Description
E. C. Segar Thimble Theatre starring Popeye Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 12-14-36 (King Features Syndicate, 1936). The very first episode from the hisk-toric "Mystery Melody" storyline that first introduces the Sea Hag and her pet vulture! This daily features Popeye, Poopdeck Pappy, and Olive Oyl in "a mystery as deep as the sea"! Our favorite bit is the last panel where "Cigar" breaks the fourth wall! Created in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 20.5" x 4.5". There is toning, and the Zipatone has discolored (with some coming loose).
