David Wright Carol Day Daily Comic Strip #547 Original Art (London Daily Mail, c.1958). A crown jewel of Great Britain's comic-strip tradition, Carol Day is distinguished in particular by Wright's extensive use of crosshatching and pen-line shading to convey emotional depth and deep perspectives in almost a photorealistic manner. Ink over graphite on textured illustration board, with painted white highlights. Image area, 17" x 5.25". Light handling wear and toning, with adhesive seams on patched-in dialogue balloons, marginal soiling and pinholes, moderate edge toning, and corner bends. In Very Good condition.
