Description

David Wright Carol Day Daily Comic Strip #1847 Original Art (London Daily Mail, c. 1962). Though internationally syndicated to some 70 newspapers, Carol Day remained based in London from its beginnings in 1956 until Wright's death in 1967, as King Features found the strip to be "too sophisticated" for the American market. It is that sophistication that makes this episode such a delight, in which a Death's Head Moth plays a part. Ink and blue pencil over graphite on fine Colyer & Southey Illustration board, with an image area of 17" x 5". The logo is a paste-up. In Excellent condition, with marginal notes, whiteout corrections, and some light toning to the board.
