Description

David Wright Carol Day #24 Daily Comic Strip Original Art (London Daily Mail, 1956). An exceptionally early example from David Wright's beloved series, this strip hails from the first month of Carol Day's publication and its very first story arc. For just over a decade, Wright captivated readers and fellow artists alike with his gorgeous linework and exceptional crosshatching, until his passing in 1967. With such a relatively short run in the world of comic strips, every Carol Day episode is all the more precious, and early examples like this are a genuine pleasure to encounter. Carol herself appears in all three panels of this daily, rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 17" x 5.25". Lightly toned, with pinholes, production notes in the margins, whiteout corrections, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
