David Wright Carol Day #235 Daily Comic Strip Original Art (London Daily Mail, 1963). Mark is almost late for a very important date -- his first day at his new job -- in this intricately detailed daily. Wright's masterful style, characterized by his signature crosshatching, brings depth and shadow to this stunning piece, created in ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 17" x 5.25". The board shows toning, small stains, production marks, and handling wear. Determining the publication date for Carol Day dailies is typically challenging, as they are numbered without dates.
