Description

David Wright Carol Day #18 Daily Comic Strip Original Art (London Daily Mirror, 1956). This exceptionally early Carol Day daily hails from the strip's very first story arc -- drawn during just the third week of its run! David Wright's masterful crosshatching style helped launch this soap-operatic strip to critical acclaim and lasting collector admiration, making early examples like this one a true pleasure to encounter. Carol herself looks radiant in the final two panels, rendered with elegant precision by her creator in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 17" x 5.25". Lightly toned, with pinholes, production notes in the margins, whiteout corrections, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
