Description

Collaborative Panel - Idea by Charles Schulz, Art by Jim Sasseville It's Only A Game Sunday Comic Strip Original Art, dated 8-10-58 (United Features, 1958). In the late fifties, concurrent with Peanuts, Charles Schulz created his only other nationally syndicated newspaper comic, It's Only a Game, which focused on the fun and foibles of people involved in amateur sports and activities like golf, bowling, bridge, fishing, and more. The strip ran for a little over a year in just a handful of newspapers. The Sunday feature consisted of three separate panel cartoon gags. This original has an image area of 18" x 8.5". The first panel has been cleanly cut out and then reattached with tape on the back. The art is also folded between the second and third panels, and the board is lightly tanned with age; otherwise, the piece is in Very Good condition.
