Description
Gould Assistant Artist Dick Tracy Unpublished Daily Comic Strips Original Art Group of 6 (1957). Here is a fascinating glimpse into Chester Gould's creative process with his art assistants: six daily Dick Tracy strips, dated 1-14-57 to 1-19-57, in which Tracy is kidnapped (yet again) by a trio of female assassins and must navigate a series of machinations to escape. These daily strips, called "blanks", are unpublished and created to gage Gould's assistant artist's ability in consideration for a greater role in the strip's production. These examples have unfinished artwork in several panels and lack any copyright attribution. Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with image areas of 16.5" x 5.25". Boards are slightly toned with handling and wear in the margins and edges. In Excellent condition.More Information: EDIT: Updated attribution and description.
