Description

Chester Gould Dick Tracy Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-24-47 (Chicago Tribune, 1947). Murderous model Dahlia Dell keeps Tracy's squad pinned at gunpoint, clutching a lamp stuffed with hidden jewels, while her partner-in-crime Hypo pulls up outside as the getaway driver. A killer and a thief, Hypo also doubled as a photographer, his nickname drawn from the darkroom fixer sodium thiosulfate once widely used in film developing. It's hard-boiled mayhem at its finest, straight from Chester Gould's prime period on his masterful crimebuster strip. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19.75" x 6". Toning, marginal pinholes, smudging/soiling, light marginal staining, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
