Charles Schulz Peanuts Snoopy and Lucy Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-10-89 (United Feature Syndicate, 1989). Yes Snoopy, there are dogs in heaven... over the rainbow bridge! Snoopy was an ever-more important cast member of the Peanuts strip from the late fifties on, and the precocious pup was cited in Schulz's biography as one of his "12 devices" or key motifs in the most popular repeating storylines.
Snoopy started writing stories on top of his doghouse on July 12, 1965, typically starting every story the same way, with the words, "It was a dark and stormy night." In this contemplative Sunday, Lucy Van Pelt give the canine novelist some constructive criticism. Sure to make a spectacular showpiece for any Peanuts fan, this ink over graphite on Bristol board episode has an image area of image area of 22.25" x 14.75", and it has been glass front framed to an overall size of 28.5" x 21". The art is in Excellent condition, with light overall toning, a few whiteout corrections, and a smudge in the first panel.
