Description
Charles Schulz - Peanuts Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 8-6-68 (United Features Syndicate, 1968). Offbeat, lingering thoughts come at night -- even Snoopy has his share of them, as this whimsical daily shows. This superb sixties strip has never been on the market before, having remained in a private collection since being given to a collector by Schulz, who inscribed it "To Kaye with friendship -- Sparky." In fact, this Sunday was given to Broadway and television star Kaye Ballard, whose signature song was "Chloe." The image area of this strip measures 27" x 5.5" and the daily is in Excellent condition, with only the usual crease between the second and third panels (Schulz folded it in this manner in order to mail it to the syndicate), and some fading on the inscription. Peanuts dailies, especially those prior to 1975, are coveted by collectors, and pieces such as this, which have never been offered for sale before, tend to generate excitement, so bid early and often.
