    Description

Charles Schulz Peanuts Daily Comic Strip Kite-Eating Tree Original Art dated 4-17-1956 (United Feature Syndicate, 1956). Oh, Good Grief! It's the Kite-Eating Tree! The series was just six years old at this point, and the Kite-Eating Tree had only made its first appearance a few days earlier! In fact, this is the same Kite stuck in the tree from that 4-12-65 daily. It was stuck up there all week long! The Tree wasn't even called "The Kite-Eating Tree" until 1965, so this is a really early appearance of a much beloved running gag, and it features Lucy (talking crazy talk) and Charlie Brown (looking more ticked off than normal).
Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 27.25" x 5". The board has been folded between the middle panels to allow mailing to the syndicate. The board is toned, and ink from the lettering/artwork has soiled the other sides of the board from being folded. There is also a stain/smudge in Panel 3. In Very Good condition.
