Burne Hogarth Tarzan Sunday Comic Strip #930 Original Art dated 1-2-49 (United Feature Syndicate, 1949). There is no question that Burne Hogarth's Tarzan is some of the best comic strip art ever created. His work inspired hundreds of other artists and entertained millions over the years. Later in life, Hogarth put his knowledge of art into book form as a series of best-selling art books with titles such as Dynamic Anatomy, Dynamic Figure Drawing, Dynamic Wrinkles and Drapery, Dynamic Light and Shade, and specific books on drawing the human hand and head! You can see the dynamic anatomy and fluidic figure work in the first two panels, the light and shade in panel three, and the drapery and wrinkles in panel four. It's all right here in this one fantastic Sunday comic strip! This strip was produced in ink over graphite with red ink key lines on two pieces of conjoined Bristol board with a combined image area of 19.5" x 26.5", joined by tape. The boards are tanned, with some minor stains in places, tape residue, and handling wear. The logo is a printed paste-up. Hogarth signed and personalized the strip in the logo panel, and signed the work in the last panel as well. Overall in Very Good condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
