Burne Hogarth Tarzan #534 Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 6-1-41 (United Feature Syndicate, 1941). Burne Hogarth was the perfect replacement for Hal Foster on this series. Hogarth's mastery of dynamic anatomy, and light and shade are almost unequalled in the comic and comic strip world. This episode, titled "Treatment for Treachery", is from the year-long "Tarzan Against Dagga Ramba" story arc, and features Tarzan being taken captive. Created in ink over graphite on two sheets of Bristol board with a combined image area of 19.5" x 15". The pieces were affixed to a larger Bristol board backing; however, the top section has come loose and is separate. The logo is a printed paste-up. The bottom section (still attached to the backing) has a crease through Panel #9. The toned boards have minor staining and are in Very Good condition.
