    Description

Bud Fisher Mutt and Jeff Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-29-22 (H.C. Fisher/Bell Syndicate, 1922). The present-day newspapers' limited comic-strip space makes the gigantic old-school format of Mutt and Jeff look all the more appealing -- this feature ran BIG and was drawn EVEN BIGGER. One of the first character-driven strips to appear continuously (since 1907), Mutt and Jeff set the standard for decades to follow. This example features terrific ink-over-graphite art on Bristol board, with some hilarious wordplay. Image area is a whopping 29" x 8.5". Very Good condition, with moderate overall aging and edge wear.
