Bob Weber and Dick Cavalli Moose and Morty Meekle Sunday Comic Strips Original Art Group of 21 (King Features Syndicate/NEA, Inc., 1963-68). This lot of Sunday comic strips features two classic titles: Moose and Morty Meekle, each offering a snapshot of mid-century humor with their own unique charm. Moose dives into the daily antics of working-class family life, starring Moose, Molly, and Junior -- with Moose often seen cutting corners and embracing laziness with surprising enthusiasm. Strips included are dated 7-3 and 9-18 of 1966; 6-25, 7-23, 9-17, 10-29, 11-19, and 12-10 of 1967; and 1-28, 2-4, 2-11, 3-31, 4-14, 5-19, 7-14, 7-28, and 10-6 of 1968.

Morty Meekle began as a witty workplace romance, but gradually shifted focus to the world of kids, led by the quirky, bespectacled Winthrop. These four strips reflect that charming evolution, dated 2-10 and 8-25 of 1963, and 2-23 and 3-15 of 1964 -- offering clever observations from pint-sized philosophers who see the world with refreshing, and often hilarious, clarity.

The Moose strips are created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with overall image areas of 19.25" x 13", with only one outlier with an image area of 13.5" x 9". The Morty Meekle strips are created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with image areas of 20.5" x 13.25". All the strips show water damage, some significantly. The majority of the Sunday strips are three strips taped together on the reverse. Includes discolored stat logo paste-ups (one is half-torn), molding, whiteout corrections, adhesive residue staining, discolored production tape, rusted staples in margins, and handling wear. Overall, in Fair condition.
