Bob Lubbers Robin Malone Daily Comic Strip Original Art Group of 11 (NEA, Inc., 1967). Having honed his craft working on Li'l Abner for Al Capp, and also illustrating Capp's Long Sam comic strip, Lubbers developed a solo feature of rare adventurous depth and humor. Robin Malone features lovely and strong, independent women, at large in a setting of action, fashion, espionage, and comedy. These examples consist of were created in ink over graphite on Duotone board, with an image area of 15.25" x 4.5". An added bonus is that several have pencil roughs on the reverse. Dates (all 1967) are 4-12, 4-17, 5-6, 5-16, 5-23, 5-30, 6-5, 7-3, 8-15, 11-18, and 12-18. Each is signed in the image area. Some show stain-spotting and handling wear. Average Excellent condition.
