    Description

Billy DeBeck Barney Google Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-15-35 (King Features Syndicate, 1935). One of the earliest Barney Google Sundays featuring Snuffy Smith that we've seen to date! It dates from about a year after Snuffy was introduced into the cast, several years before his name would actually be added to the strip. It didn't take long for Snuffy and his mountain kin to push Barney out and dominate the action, and in this choice Sunday, our diminutive hero gets the "raw end" of the deal. The art is in ink over graphite on two conjoined pieces of Bristol board, with an image area of 20.5" x 16.25". There is light toning; otherwise, the condition is Excellent.
