Description

Billy DeBeck Barney Google and Snuffy Smith Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 6 -22-41 (King Features Syndicate, 1941). Hootin' Holler's favorite son, Snuffy, finds modern Army wargames a tad overwhelming, so he takes a break from the action to commune with nature as only he can -- by kissing an army mule! This Sunday was drawn only six months before the Pearl Harbor attack, but cartoon stars such as Snuffy were already preparing for the looming conflict ahead. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 17.5" x 11". Light toning, marginal tape, spots of production oil spots, with edge and corner wear. In Very Good condition.
